The Scottish Physiotherapist Amputee Research Group (SPARG) comprises every senior physiotherapist in Scotland with a clinical responsibility for amputee rehabilitation. SPARG meets as a clinical interest/research group and has developed a unique national database of demographic, rehabilitation milestone and outcome data for all new lower limb amputees in Scotland. SPARG continues to: develop a standardised system of information collection and analysis for amputee patients; evaluate current physiotherapy practice concerning the management of amputees;  promote research and guideline development in the field of amputee rehabilitation; and acts as a forum for discussion, debate and education. http://www.knowledge.scot.nhs.uk/sparg.aspx
